Does Supabase have a hard spending cap?
Partial Per the docs as of Oct 14, 2026: The Pro plan Spend Cap blocks over-quota usage for many usage items, but compute and some opt-in items are excluded.
How do I turn on a spending limit in Supabase?
- Organization billing page > Cost Control section.
- Turn the Spend Cap on (it can also be set when creating a Pro org).
- Monitor the organization's usage page and Upcoming Invoice.
What happens when the Supabase limit is hit?
Further usage of a covered item is disallowed until the next billing cycle; you aren't charged for over-usage.
Gotchas
- Not covered: Compute, Branching Compute, Read Replica Compute, Custom Domain, additionally provisioned disk IOPS/throughput, and other opt-in items.
- Docs say the Spend Cap doesn't support budgets per item or cost notifications.
- Free Plan isn't charged; Spend Cap is a Pro Plan feature.
